Frequently Asked Questions
I can't connect the Doofa app to my PC! Can you help?
If you have followed the instructions and are seeing the message "How's your WiFi connection?", try the following:
- Check that the Doofa PC application is actually running. After you click "Start" it will minimise to the task bar and be ready to receive a connection.
- Check that your computer and your phone are connected to your wireless network. If you have more than one network, check they are connected to the same one!
- Check your firewall allows traffic on the port Doofa is using. Try turning your firewall off temporarily to see if it is the cause of your problem.
- In Windows 7 there are three levels of Windows firewall. Try all of them!
- To check that the PC application is running correctly, click the following link:
Test WSDL
You should see a page entitled 'DoofaService Service'. This means the PC application is working. (If you have changed the port number, you can test this by changing '8000' in the link for your new port number)
The Doofa PC app displays an IP address that I know is wrong. Why?
The application queries a list held on your computer of it's IP addresses. Occasionally it can pick the wrong one. If you know you should be using a different IP address, go right ahead - Doofa won't mind
